In the day's first semi-final, Italy were tied with Spain as late as the 4th Quarter but forward Maria Conde (20 pts, 8 rebounds) and point guard Angela Salvadores (18 points) made important plays in the closing minutes to carry the Iberian side to yet another final.
In the second semi-final France had an 11 point lead with only 5 minutes to go but Olga Frolkina hit 2 huge triples for Russia and the game was tied in the last minute until Lisa Berkani (23 pts, 10 rebounds, 3 assists) hit the game-winning jumper and set up a France/Spain final...again!
